Hobart Hurricanes (HUR) will take on Perth Scorchers (SCO) in Match 7 of the ongoing BBL 2024-25 (Big Bash League) season, at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, on Saturday, December 21.
The Nathan Ellis-led had a poor start to their BBL campaign as they suffered a six-wicket defeat in their season opener against Melbourne Renegades. The side dealt with a batting collapse as they were bundled out for a mere 74 runs in 12.4 overs. Fergus O’Neill, Tom Rogers and Will Sutherland for Renegades bowled beautifully sharing nine wickets amongst them. The Melbourne-based side later chased down the target in nine overs and opened their account in the points tally.
Meanwhile, the Ashton Turner-led Scorchers played the season opener against the Melbourne Stars and registered a six-wicket win. Opting to bat first, the Stars managed to score 146 runs in their allotted 20 overs. In reply, the Perth-based franchise later chased down the target with relative ease, thanks to Cooper Connolly’s brilliant 64-run knock.
