After more than a month of intense cricket, the prestigious Big Bash League (BBL 2024-25) is all set to conclude with a pulsating final between Hobart Hurricanes (HUR) and Sydney Thunder (THU), at the Bellerive Oval in Hobart, on Monday, January 27. Notably, these two sides faced twice this season, with one game ending without a result, while the other one saw Hurricanes winning by six wickets.
Hobart managed to finish on top of the points table after registering seven wins and two losses from 15 games, which included a game without a result. Probable Top Performers from HUR vs THU
Probable Best Batter: David Warner
Sydney Thunder skipper David Warner is the leading run-scorer of the season with 357 runs to his name from 11 innings at an average of 44.62 and a strike rate of 140.55. Warner has scored three half-centuries this season and was once short by one run to complete his fifty. He will be eager to lead his side to their second BBL title, and to that Warner’s bat needs to do all the talking.
Probable Best Bowler: Riley Meredith
Hobart Hurricanes pacer Riley Meredith could be the best bowler in the upcoming clash against Sydney Thunder. The right-arm speedster has been phenomenal with the new ball as he’s been instrumental in picking early scalps for his team. In nine games, Meredith has bagged 13 wickets at an economy of 8.73. He will look to add more wickets to his tally in the final fixture of the season and help his side win the title.
