Washington Sundar was born on October 5, 1999, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is an all-rounder who bats left-handed and bowls right-arm off-spin. Sundar has established himself as a key player in the Indian national cricket team, particularly in limited-overs formats, and has also made significant contributions in the Indian Premier League (IPL), playing for teams such as the Rising Pune Supergiant and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Biography

Washington Sundar’s cricket journey is notable for his rapid rise through the ranks. Named after his father’s mentor, Mr. Washington, Sundar was initially focused on batting but developed his off-spin bowling to enhance his contributions to the team. His domestic performances for Tamil Nadu caught the attention of the national selectors, leading to his debut for the Indian team in 2017 in an ODI against Sri Lanka.

Sundar’s international breakthrough came during the Nidahas Trophy in 2018, where his bowling in the powerplay overs was instrumental in India’s victory.
